THE FOURTH ANNUAL BEANTOWN TAPFEST
August 15-21, 2011, Registration is Open!
Boston’s week-long tribute to tap dance via education, exploration and celebration!
In 2007, after years of producing tap jams and master classes in Boston and decades of performing and teaching, Julia Boynton wanted to create a celebratory, educational, tap lovefest for the New England tap community. A place, both in time and space, to celebrate and pay tribute to the art form with which we are all - let's face it - slightly obsessed.
Just as Boston is known as the "walkable" city, it is also the tappable city. It is that place where you can tap in your comfort zone and also push yourself to new horizons. Where people both enjoy and strive. Where that intimate, welcoming atmosphere makes you feel like you are dancing among friends, even if you don't yet know anyone in the room. (Trust us, soon you will.) And as the Beantown Tapfest brings this community together, new ties will be forged and old ones strengthened.
Please join the 2011 Beantown Tapfest as we celebrate the past, present, and future of tap in the very city that has contributed so much to the local, national, and international tap scene over the years.
Classes, jams, and performances.

SUPPORT PHILLY TAP CHALLENGE!
I am in love with the idea that all my incredible circle of friends can make my dream come true! As you know, I try my best to get a Tap Dance festival together every year since 2005, and you also know that sometimes it has happened and sometimes, well... ?? Anyway, Kickstarter is a funding tool that anyone with a project can use.
The goal is set at $5000 since that is the amount I had to produce it this year. It was very challenging indeed on that budget and showed me how much positivity from the event was encouraged! However, I did go broke with that secured amount which also tells me that $10,000 is the real minimum for a successful festival to occur. Many have told me how they did not even know there was a tap festival, because they never saw or heard any advertising. I can assure you that I had wonderful help with advertising through PhiladelphiaDance.organd completely understand that more was definitely needed. Well the answer is simple, more budget, more word can be spread and more of you can plan ahead to see (or just wish me well with :) the amazing shows!
Please help this fundraising effort by donating in any amount from $1 or more and spread the word by forwarding the emails (or just copy the link) I will send out through the next 58 days! It is the same link highlighted above and I really do appreciate all your help! Remember, raising 200% of the goal is really the aim!!!
Peace,
Jaye Allison
