The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang nominated for two Black Excellence Awards
CHICAGO, IL -- Oct 13, 2007 -- October 13th 2007
The good news just keeps on coming! The HD Feature, The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang, won the Best Feature Narrative Award this past Saturday at the International Black Film Festival of Nashville. Earlier that evening 'Miss Thang' screened in the historic Belcourt theater in Nashville's trendy Hillsboro Village neighborhood. Audience members included Hollywood Actor Mykelti Williamson and legendary filmmaker, Julie Dash, who went on to express how much she loved the film during the audience Q&A.

The African American Arts Alliance of Chicago has nominated The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang for two Black Excellence Awards. One for Outstanding Production of the year and the second nomination goes to Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards for Outstanding Actress. The Seventh Annual Black Excellence Awards Ceremony & Gala will take place on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the DuSable Museum of African American History in Chicago.
